Fijian influencers explain how they got into rugby
Research from University of the South Pacific says 68% of women who play sport other than rugby would be influenced by the quality of the coaches and safe, accessible playing spaces. Women who are thinking about playing rugby also recognise the way it opens doors to travel, education and employment opportunities. Many believe that the most important part of playing rugby is the solidarity and friendships forged in a team. Fiji Rugby Union is taking steps to train more coaches to welcome new players into Get into Rugby and progress to play other forms of the game.
